My name is Amanda and I am one of the Senior Psychological therapists working on the Hertfordshire side of Here For You Team. I joined the service in April 2021 after over a decade in an Essex Psychological Therapies Service working as a Cognitive Behavioural and Interpersonal Psychotherapy Therapist. It was rather nerve racking leaving a secure and stable job during a pandemic but exciting to be part of something new and so meaningful. I am passionate about the wellbeing of our NHS, social care and non statutory staff. These are my colleagues and the work I do feels deeply personal and important. I am a Mental Health nurse by background and have had nearly 30 years of experience working in clinical and managerial roles in the NHS, mainly in secondary mental health services. Some of the highlights for me were managing general Hospital Liaison services in both Essex, Devon and Somerset and Suicide Prevention Lead for the East of England’s National Insititue of Mental Health for England. When I am not working, I can be found ferrying my teenager children to their many social events and walking my springer across the fields. I try and make time for myself too and this job is a constant reminder to prioritise my wellbeing.
