Senior Social Worker (Essex)
Hello, I’m Charmaine and I am a Senior Social Worker in Here For You (Essex). I started at the end of May 2022. I am in a secondment position from Essex County Council where I have worked since 2001. I have worked in various departments: Looked After Children, Post Adoption, Physical Disabilities and Adult Hospital Discharge. Prior to that I worked in South Africa where I had qualified as a Social Worker.
My role in the Here For You team is to assist with introducing and implementing the service with Essex County Council staff. It is a real pleasure and honour to support staff who I know are working so hard and who go above and beyond their roles so often so that others get the service they need. My main values are justice, fairness, kindness and compassion. I always want to ensure that people are treated with respect and kindness and for them to feel that they matter regardless of their status or background.
In my spare time I love reading, watching movies with my family and attempt baking new and different recipes.
