Assistant Psychologist (Essex)
Hello, I’m Gabi. I am an Assistant Psychologist working in the Here For You Service on the Essex side. I started with the team in December 2022 and I am very much looking forward to settling into the team. My role will be supporting with the Patient & Staff Safety Incident pathway. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work within a service supporting the wellbeing of healthcare staff.
During my undergraduate degree, I completed a placement year where I worked within Clinical Health Psychology as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist, supporting the pain management team. After graduating, I have worked as an Assistant Psychologist in a specialist drug and alcohol service in the community and I have worked in secured settings within the NHS in a mental health in-reach team in prison. I have supported individuals with complex trauma and it is important for me to be aware of systemic challenges, whilst considering the wider social, cultural, and political context, to understanding individual distress. I am passionate about trauma-informed practice and I am drawn to using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Compassion-Focussed Therapy approaches. I have an interest in systemic and trauma-focussed therapy.
I am hoping to train to become a Clinical Psychologist which will allow me to adopt a range of therapeutic models to support individuals across the life span. Compassion, kindness, and equality are some of my values that influence my work and personal life.
Outside of work I enjoy running outdoors and spending quality time with family and friends, especially over good food!
