Triage Lead and Psychotherapist (Essex)
I’m George, Triage Lead for the Essex Here for You Service and a Psychotherapist in the team. I’ve been in the NHS for three years and joined the team in August 2022. My role helps to ensure smooth pathways between our team and our colleagues in other services. I’ve been a Person-Centred and Humanistic Psychotherapist for 12 years specialising mainly in trauma and have worked supporting clients and training staff across homelessness, domestic abuse, sex working, offending and substance misuse. Prior to joining the team, I worked in strategic roles for five years as the mental health lead in the Equality Improvement Department at national Mind and as a Mental Health Commissioner, focusing on creating great systems of care for clients and staff. Equity, empowerment and compassion are some of my key values that I hope I exemplify at work. When I’m not at work I love to read, walk in nature, craft things and listen to music.
